
A Stress Relief Camp was organised at Gossner College, Ranchi, under the National Mental Health Programme. The event was conducted jointly by the District Health Committee, Ranchi and Tele-MANAS Jharkhand, the initiative aimed to promote mental health awareness among students and provide necessary counselling support.
Principal Prof. Elani Purti interacted with students and encouraged them to stay connected with mental health support programs. She emphasised the importance of open discussions on emotional well-being. Moreover, she motivated students to seek help without hesitation.
During the camp, doctors and professional counsellors provided guidance to students. In addition, medical support and medicines were distributed as required. Members of Learning Links Foundation also extended their support to ensure the smooth conduct of the program.

Awareness Sessions and Interactive Activities
Several engaging activities were organised for students during the program. These activities conveyed important messages about mental well-being. Furthermore, one-on-one counselling sessions were conducted for students who required personal attention.
The event began with a welcome address by the Principal. Subsequently, Jhilmili Chatterjee conducted an ice-breaking activity that encouraged student participation. Afterwards, Dr. Sahaj (Psychiatrist) delivered a detailed session on mental health, symptoms of mental illnesses, their causes, and the importance of timely treatment.
Dr. Preetha Roy and Jhilmili Chatterjee (NMHP) discussed different types of stress and their physical and psychological effects. Meanwhile, Santana Kumari (NHM State Cell Nodal Officer) explained practical techniques for managing and reducing stress effectively.

Importance of Mental Health Support
At the end of the session, students received individual counselling and medical advice when necessary. Principal Prof. Elani Purti stated that students’ mental health forms the foundation of their academic progress. She thanked the Tele-MANAS team and expressed hope for more such awareness programs in the future.
Students were also informed that anyone facing mental distress can contact the 24/7 toll-free helpline numbers 14416 or 18008914416.
Officials present included Dr Seema Gupta, Abhishek Kumar, Dr Sahaj Sahu, Jhilmili Chatterjee, Radhika Tak, and several faculty members and contributors from Learning Links Foundation.

Gossner Cine Fest 5.0 – Open for Submissions
Gossner Cine Fest 5.0 is the flagship student film festival organised by the Department of Mass Communication and Video Production at Gossner College, Ranchi. The festival will be held from 9th to 11th April 2026 and aims to promote independent filmmaking, student cinema, and regional storytelling.
The festival invites submissions in categories such as short films, documentaries, and student projects. Selected films will be screened before a live audience, followed by interactive sessions and expert feedback. Media professionals and guest speakers will also participate in panel discussions and workshops.
