The Department of Mass Communication and Video Production, Gossner College, has released a new documentary series titled “Maati Kar Aushadhi.” This project focuses on Jharkhand’s traditional medicines and indigenous healing practices. The official launch took place in the presence of Pro In-Charge Prof. Ilani Purty, Bursar Prof. Praveen Surin, Course Coordinator Prof. Asha Rani Kerketta, and Director Prof. Mahima Golden Bilung. Faculty members Santosh Kumar, Tej Mundu, and Meena Jha were also present at the event.
Speaking at the launch, Prof. Ilani Purty emphasized the importance of traditional knowledge. She said, “Jharkhand has a wealth of natural medicines that can treat even serious diseases. However, due to a lack of awareness, many people ignore these remedies. As a result, they waste both time and money on costly treatments. This initiative by the students is more than a video project—it’s a vital step towards spreading health awareness.”
