
Gossner College, Ranchi hosted the Kho-Kho Tournament 2025 under Ranchi University on 19 and 20 November. The event brought several college teams together and created a lively competitive atmosphere. Moreover, Day 1 attracted enthusiastic crowds, strong teams, and respected officials.
Inauguration Ceremony
The opening ceremony of the Kho-Kho Tournament 2025 took place on 19 November 2025. The Vice-Chancellor of Ranchi University, Professor Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Singh, attended as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the tournament. Additionally, Gossner College Principal, Prof. Elani Purty, welcomed him with a memento and a sapling.
During his address, the Chief Guest encouraged all participants. He explained that sports build discipline, unity, and character. Furthermore, he emphasized that true players compete not only for trophies but also for passion and personal growth. His inspiring words boosted the confidence of every team present at the venue.

After interacting with the players and wishing them success, he officially declared the Gossner Kho-Kho Tournament 2025 open. The first match featured St. Xavier’s College and Marwari College. Both teams displayed speed, strategy, and excellent teamwork. Their competitive spirit impressed the spectators and raised the excitement for the remaining matches.
Prominent officials such as Vijay Kumar Verma, Selector (Ranchi University), and Tapan Kumar Rao, Selector (Jharkhand Kho-Kho Sangh), attended the event and closely observed the matches. Their presence added credibility and encouraged the young athletes to perform better.
As Day 1 came to an end, the Kho-Kho Tournament 2025 left the campus buzzing with energy and anticipation. The strong performances, spirited competition, and enthusiastic crowd set the stage for an even more exciting Day 2. The event highlighted the growing interest in Kho-Kho and showcased the talent of college athletes across Ranchi University.
