
Ranchi – On April 16, students from the Mass Communication department of Gosner College swapped their cameras and keyboards for cricket bats and balls, showcasing their athletic side in a thrilling one-day cricket tournament held at the Ranchi Airport Ground. The event featured enthusiastic participation from videographers, photographers, editors, content writers, and trainee media professionals.
“Cricket” Unites Creative Energy Beyond the Studio
Four teams — Mass Com Smashers, Mass Com Blasters, Wicket Warriors, and Gully Gang — were formed from the department’s students, including several talented female participants. The women of Mass Com, including Riya, Sakshi, Prerna, Divya, Kashaf, Amisha, Aditi, and Rimmy, delivered standout performances and made significant contributions to their teams.
In the tournament’s opening match, Gully Gang took on Mass Com Smashers, with the Smashers clinching victory to move ahead. The second match saw Mass Com Blasters triumph over Wicket Warriors, setting up a grand finale between the Blasters and the Smashers. The final proved to be a nail-biter, but Mass Com Blasters sealed their win by defeating Mass Com Smashers with 6 wickets.

Throughout the event, the energy was high and the support was unwavering. Faculty members including Prof. Mahima Golden Bilung, Prof. Santosh Kumar, and Prof. Anuj Kumar were present, along with the entire student body of the Mass Communication department, cheering on their peers and celebrating the fusion of media and sportsmanship.
